Description

The Witley Treatment and Research Unit was opened in 1930 along with the rest of the new hospital at Monks Orchard. It contained an operating theatre, pharmacy and photographic darkroom as well as accommodation for hydrotherapy, psychotherapy, and dental and electrical treatment. Lantern slides, photographs and negatives, mostly relating to patients, were held here for clinical and research purposes.
